Afrikanischer Tanz

African dance for open groups

West African rhythm and dance are expression of fundamental energy of life. Sorrow, joy, love or death: Africans dance their lives!

The ADESA instructors teach traditional rhythms and dances and supply background information about their origin and meaning.

Reference points to our daily life and the possibility to make one of the world oldest cultures approachable to Western culture will be shown.

With isolation and coordination lessons as well as with song will the participants be led to the roots of African joy of life. Male and female forms of dance will be explained and conveyed in their context with lots of humor and empathy.

A complex choreography will be developed together, with focus on the connection of drum signals and dance steps which will be conveyed in a playful manner. Drummer included, if you wish!
